A final year student of the University of Education Winneba has reportedly died after he had a neck injury while celebrating his completion of school.
According to Myjoyonline.com, after finishing the last of his final papers, the deceased chose to celebrate the occasion by performing backflips.
According to a video circulation on social media, the deceased, who was in the Department of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Sports and was also a gymnastics master, landed on his neck while being cheered on during his celebration performance.
“Unfortunately, Abdul failed in the stunt during the somersault and landed awkwardly on his neck,” the Myjoyonline report adds.
The deceased was allegedly brought to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for medical assistance after suffering injuries to his neck and spine in the incident, but he died while receiving treatment.
